You hit the nail on the head with the majority of work relationships. I have had many work “friends” over the years, where all we did over lunches, breaks, and happy hours was complain about other people and/or business decisions we didn’t like. Years later, after all of us had moved on, we ended up having little in common besides our mutual dislike for our former company. It is funny how we realize in hind-sight how two-dimensional some of our friendships actually were.
