How to make our own good weather
When Mother Nature screws with us
Spring is in the air.
The grass is green, the flowers are blooming . . . and the snow is falling.
Yes, the snow is falling — on April 27 in the upper Midwest (U.S.). A heavy, wet 3–5 inches of snow is predicted.
Less than a week ago, on Easter Sunday, it was 80 degrees (F) — and now this.
We could take one of two viewpoints. Either Mother Nature is just a bit confused or she is being a real bitch today.
Those who think she is in a bad mood are most likely to make a big deal out of the situation. They likely started complaining as soon as the weather forecast was announced a few days ago — and haven’t stopped complaining since. They lament the activities they cannot do outside today. They whine to anyone who will listen how this unusual spring snowfall impacts them.
I am trying to adopt the mindset that Mother Nature is just a bit confused today. What is the use in complaining? Is the spring snowfall unfortunate? Absolutely it is. But here are some ways to put a positive spin on it:
