Tim, thank you for saying what needs to be said. The company I work for pays annual bonuses, and many employees look at it as an entitlement, like it’s something they get regardless of their performance. They clearly take it for granted, and that defeats the purpose of it. I look at it as a privilege for the very reasons that you outlined so well in your story.
Thank you for the wake-up call that so many people in the corporate world need to hear.
