Thanks for the detailed explanation. I completely agree that feedback in the form of comments is more effective than anything else. My perspective was if someone gave my story a rave review, but only 1–10 claps, that would make me wonder if they really liked it or not. That’s where it would appear contradictory to me.

I also agree that giving someone a high number of claps just so they will be paid more by Medium Partner doesn’t seem right. The number of claps should be based on quality alone and not any sort of monetary reward.
