Thank you for this article. I am literally typing this reply while sitting in an open concept work area — and I hate everything about it. Right now, three people five feet away from me are carrying on an animated conversation about a work process that no one cares about. That’s the way it is all day long. No human can focus with these kinds of constant distractions.

The up-side is that next week I start a different job, and I will have high cube walls that give some semblance of privacy. I can’t wait to be able to focus on my work without all the peripheral interruptions.
