Just wear the mask and deal with it

The dangers of little green monsters and careless people

In the United States, people are getting antsy over current Covid-19 policies. Some states already eased restrictions, prompting concern about the long-term impact of such a move.

Protesters are appearing at state capitol buildings waving signs and rifles under the premise of their freedoms being violated. Many refuse to wear a mask or adhere to social distancing guidelines. News reports show people relaxing at restaurants and beaches in way-too-close proximity.

To those careless people, I say you may be entitled to do what you believe is your right. But that comes with a level of risk that takes priority over your argument that your rights are being violated.

So, until this pandemic is behind us, please stay away from the rest of us and those we care about.

I agree it is a pain in the ass wearing a mask in public and keeping a safe distance from others. I am sick of it too.

I want businesses to open up as badly as any protester does. I am equally concerned about our world economy going into a freefall in the coming months.

But I will be damned if I choose to not take precautions and follow the guidelines strongly recommended by countless…
