I have an education degree, but have no regrets not teaching in a school — and it is not because of the students, it is because of the parents. I would not have the patience to take their crap for very long.
It seems that over-involved parents are the problem everywhere — in the classroom, on the sports field, planning a kid’s event. They act like they are their child’s biggest ally, when they are actually their child’s biggest detriment to success. I have raised children myself, so this is not said blindly.
Thanks for a very honest, straight-forward story. I wish you well!
