I am currently sitting in a terminal at the Detroit International Airport waiting for my connecting flight to North Carolina. It is a business trip to a training class that starts tomorrow.

The early morning flight to Michigan was quick and uneventful. It was only a 90-minute layover until my 10:30 boarding. That gave me enough time to stop for a casual breakfast and a good cup of coffee.

While walking to the gate, my phone suddenly buzzed with a new message: My flight is delayed until 12:30.

Two more hours.

“Shit,” I mumbled to myself.

Ten minutes later, my phone buzzed again: My flight is now delayed until 2:30 p.m.

Double shit!

Many readers can relate to this scenario.

Then, something happens that seems to screw up everything.

No offense to the good people of Detroit, but this is not how I wanted to spend my Monday.

I could sit here getting steamed up and feeling sorry for myself. I could march…
