Getting beyond the first step
What is something you have always wanted to do? Don’t read any further until you have something in mind.
When you daydream, what do you think about? Seriously…what do you really think about?
Imagine yourself doing what you have always wanted to do. Picture yourself in that scenario living and breathing in that alternate reality.
What do you see? What images do you picture in your mind?
What do you hear? What sounds enter your virtual ears?
What do you feel? What emotions and senses are most prominent?
How do you feel? Pretty good, right? Enjoy this vision, because the next paragraph is the tough part.
Ask yourself this question: What is stopping you?
Is it someone in your life? Is it a circumstance?
Actually, it is neither. The reason is as close as the nearest mirror.
There are two kinds of goals — a mental goal and a physical goal. The mental goal is where we have that ideal vision — that mental picture — of exactly how we want our future to look. The physical goal is where we actually proceed to make that goal become a reality.
