The best part of Medium is all the wonderful stories that people publish. The worst part of Medium is having so many wonderful stories that there is simply not enough time to read them all.
I decided to periodically post some recommendations of stories I recently read that really impacted me, for various reasons. I hope these writers are okay with me calling attention to their fine work. I assure you there is no kickback or prior agreement with them — they had no knowledge until now that their work is being recognized. I encourage everyone to give these stories a close look.
Joren van Schaik wrote a very moving piece about his struggles with acceptance and how not to be defined by other people’s opinions. His personal journey was not easy, but the end result is inspiring.
