As you said, getting a college degree is not required to be successful in life, but it does open a few more doors.

You are wise beyond your years in considering those who you will eventually impact by getting that degree (e.g. wife, kids). I wish I had that perspective when I was struggling years ago to get my degree — it might have made it a bit easier.
